The Dean’s List Award Finalists

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-424cqTeRzU&feature=youtu.be

11 Florida FIRST Alumni who were Dean’s List Finalists in previous years volunteered to judge the Dean’s List. This is the video we played to announce the FIRST Tech Challenge Florida Championship 2017 Dean’s List Finalists, complete with videos of them and their robots during the season. It ends with a call to action for all seniors to join the Florida FIRST Alumni.

FIRST Tech Challenge Florida Championship: Makin' it LOUD since 2007 - #MakeItLOUD

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMnxrYauSJA

This is the video we showed between the alliance selection and the 1st eliminations match to get the crowd loud. It highlights the vision of FIRST, the Florida FIRST Alumni, the teams competing at the FIRST Tech Challenge Florida Championship, and the history of the best teams to ever compete from Florida. The montage also compares the excitement of working at places like NASA, Lockheed Martin, and SpaceX to the excitement students feel during FIRST competitions. Every second is worth watching.

The RoboShow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7JdEUvgMY0&t

The RoboShow is the pre-show which is shown before the Opening Ceremonies, pre-filmed at the Kennedy Space Center. It is similar to ESPN GameDay, and shows video of each team, what award they won at their League Championships, and what unique qualities they have which helped them win those awards. Warning: 35 minutes long, which includes the Velocity Vortex Game Animation.

3.      Florida Championship Award Winners -- The eleventh Florida FTC season has come to an end with an exciting celebration at the Florida Championship that was held at Western High School on February 25, 2017. The combination of great teams, outstanding volunteers, and a fantastic venue made this a fitting end to a very exciting Florida 2016-17 season.  I would like to thank all of the volunteers, coaches, mentors, and teams members across Florida that made this a very special tenth season.

The 29 teams that attended the Florida Championship made it a very competitive event.  The non-penalty high score of the day was 265 points accomplished by the team of 4717 Mechromancers and 7203 KNO3.  There were a large number of outstanding robots as demonstrated by the fact that 82% of the scores were higher than 100 points and 18% of the scores were higher than 200 points. We also had a match end in a 150 point tie and three blue particles get stuck in the center vortex during one match.
