Greetings Florida FTC Teams, Volunteers, and Sponsors:
Please Read this update carefully and completely!
It has been over a week since my last Florida FTC email newsletter and a lot has happen since then. The Relic Recovery game has been released and we have been dealing with hurricane Irma. I hope that everyone is safe and back in your house. Given the number of people in Florida that are still without power, I am assuming that some of you still might not be back to your regular routine. I hope the recovery process in your area happens quickly and please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
In the coming days, I will be sending out additional information to help you prepare for the FTC season. In today’s email, I am going to tell you about two grant opportunities that are available to teams in Florida. The following are the grant opportunities I have included in this email:
1. Hurricane Irma Rookie Team Grants
2. Florida FTC Rockwell Collins Grants
1. Hurricane Irma Rookie Team Grants – FIRST would like to help as many Florida FTC Rookie teams as possible to help offset the challenges that have been created by hurricane Irma. If you have not already received a grant from FIRST and this is your teams first season, I encourage you to apply for the FIRST Rookie team grants. You can apply for a grant by going to the following FIRST web page:
http://info.firstinspires.org/first-tech-challenge-grants All Florida FTC rookie teams will receive priority and will likely receive some level of financial grant from FIRST. Please go to the above web page as soon as possible.
