Greetings Florida FTC Teams, Volunteers, and Sponsors (Please distribute this email to your team members, parents, and mentors):

Congratulations to team 3101 BoomBots from Palm Harbor University High School for being the captain of the winning alliance at the Houston FTC World Championship and to Blake Sanders from team 10497 SwampBots for being a World Championship Dean’s List winner.  These are both significant accomplishments for our Florida FTC teams.  BoomBots had to score over 500 points in several of the alliance matches to win and scored an impressive 582 points during the finals. Blake Sander’s selection to the Dean’s List is a Florida first.  Being selected as a Dean’s List winner from over 1000 nominations is an incredible accomplishment. Congratulations team 3101 BoomBots and Blake Sanders.

Team 7203 KNO3 also had a great World Championship which included being selected for the Design Award Finalist and also making it to the alliance rounds in the Franklin Division.  Unfortunately they ran up against the World Championship juggernaut that was led by team 3101 BoomBots.

My final update about the World Championship events is that the Promote Video created by team 9779 PIEaters that the Promote Award Winner at the Florida Championship will be played during the opening of the Detroit FTC finals Saturday event.  I encourage all of you to take the time to watch this creative video: https://youtu.be/iBXi66IgZNc . This video is expected to be played tomorrow evening (April 27) between 5:30pm and 6:00pm.  You can watch the live stream by going to the following website: https://info.firstinspires.org/firsttv-championship

All of the Florida FTC teams, students, coaches, and volunteers did an outstanding job at the Houston FTC World Championship.  We had over 20 volunteers that represented several teams and leagues.  Thank you to everyone that made this another fantastic FTC season.
