This is a final reminder to coaches in the Florida FTC leagues listed below that tomorrow, December 15, 2018, is your final opportunity to submit your Dean’s List nominations. Each coach can submit up to 2 sophomore or junior students. Nominations can be made by right from your team dashboard by clicking the “Dean’s List Submission” button. Make sure to read the Dean’s List Nomination Guide and submit your nomination today!  Please login to your FIRST account today and submit your nominations.

The league leadership teams are very busy identifying event locations and dates. We current have events published on the www.flfirst.org website and events have also been added to the FIRST Volunteer Management Information System (VIMS). Therefore, teams can start registering to attend events and volunteers can also start registering for events. The volunteer training material is expected to be published on Schoology starting in early October.

The countdown to Rover Ruckus has started! The 2018-19 season will officially start next Saturday, September 8, 2018 with the reveal of the game rules. We are having five kick-off events across Florida to ensure there is an event close to you. I encourage all teams to attend an event as this is a great opportunity to network with other teams, learn about this seasons changes, and help your team be prepared to start your robot design activities.

Four weeks until the grand reveal of the Rover Ruckus FTC game and I am pleased to announce that we will have five kick-off events located throughout Florida to ensure all teams are able to attend a local event. Your team can decide to attend any of the five events. This is your opportunity to learn about the new game rules, meet other teams, and learn about the Florida FTC program. I encourage all teams to attend one of the kick-off events.

You can start learning about this year’s FTC game rules by reviewing Part 1 of the Game Manual located on the following website: https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/ftc/game-and-season-info. I encourage you to review Chapter 8.0 The Robot carefully as there is a new section in the manual this year that provides a hint about a new scoring element this season.
